NALANDA ACADEMY
Nalanda Academy, located at Samyak Buddha Vihar in Wardha, is inspired by the vision of anti-caste leaders like Jotiba Phule, Savitrimai Phule, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The Academy runs an annual 10-month Foundation Course, offering free residential training to over 200 underprivileged students each year, preparing them for higher education. Over the past 12 years, it has trained more than 2000 students from rural backgrounds, helping them secure admissions to top Indian and foreign universities—including 52 currently studying abroad. To sustain its mission, the Academy depends on donations from supporters who share the Ambedkarite philosophy of empowerment through education.

2013
Nalanda Academy's journey began in 2013 with a four-month training program led by Anoop Kumar at Dr. Ambedkar College of Social Work, benefiting 22 undergraduate women students.
JUNE
2014
Anoop Kumar establishes the Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar Public Library at Dr. Ambedkar College of Social Work, Wardha, with local community support.
SEPTEMBER
2015
The local community welcomed Nalanda to operate from Samyak Buddha Vihar free of cost, where it has been based ever since.
JANUARY
2017
Nalanda's women alumni establish Sanghamitra Collective - a platform dedicated to supporting women from marginalized communities in higher education.

2017
Prof. Abhiyan Humane organizes a successful month-long Science and Technology Summer Workshop for school children in Wardha.
May
2018
Nalanda initiates the Krantijyoti Savitrimai Phule Education Fair in Wardha, now an annual event drawing thousands of enthusiastic student participants each year.

2018
Nalanda Labs, founded by Late. Abhiyan Humane in 2018, is a platform for students to pursue their interests in sciences, design and technology. Lab is designed to be an ecosystem for young students to explore the intersections of Art-Science-Technology.

Nalanda Academy launches the Abhiyan Library Initiative to establish rural community libraries in Wardha as a tribute to the late Abhiyan Humane.
August
2020
Kanta Humane and Shashikant Humane, parents of the late Prof. Abhiyan, generously donate 9 acres of land to Nalanda Academy for its upcoming Nalanda Abhiyan Campus.
October
2020
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, Nalanda introduces Digital Nalanda, a free online learning platform now serving over 18,000 students.

2022
To recognize and celebrate the intellectual contributions of individuals who have historically faced barriers to academic advancement, the Samyak Center for Interdisciplinary Research is founded.
August
2023
To support underprivileged students by providing access to proper resources and a network, the Nalanda Counselling Centre, with over 200 mentors, is launched.
April
2024
With the completion of the compound wall, the construction of the academic block, consisting of four classrooms, is now underway at the Nalanda Abhiyan Campus.
