Building Dreams, Brick by Brick: The Nalanda Abhiyan Campus Journey!

For the past 13 years, Nalanda Academy, Wardha has been working to make quality education accessible to students from rural and marginalized communities. What started in a small Buddha Vihar has grown into a strong educational movement.  Today, more than 2,300 Nalanda students are studying at universities across India and abroad.

Now, this journey has reached an important milestone the construction of the Nalanda Abhiyan Campus at Waifad, Wardha.

This campus is not just a set of buildings. It is a shared dream, built through the collective support of individuals who believe in the idea of “Pay Back to the Community.” Without institutional funding, a major portion of the construction has already been completed through community contributions.

From a Small Beginning to a Growing Campus

Nalanda Academy began with very limited resources but a clear vision. Over the years, with the dedication of students, mentors, and supporters, that vision has continued to grow. Construction of the campus began in April 2024. In the last two years, the site has transformed significantly.

🎥 Watch the campus progress video below to see this journey come alive.

Academic Block Taking Shape

The Academic Block is at the heart of the campus. The ground floor is now close to completion and includes 4 classrooms (two large and two medium-sized). The classrooms are designed to be spacious, well-ventilated, and suitable for a focused learning environment. The first floor will be developed in the next phase, with plans for a library, studio, and additional academic facilities.

Hostel Facilities for Students

Boys’ Hostel

The Boys’ Hostel has made strong progress, with all floors structurally ready. It will accommodate around 90 students in the first phase. Each room is designed for shared living with proper study space, ventilation, and essential facilities.

The hostel also includes common areas to support a healthy and comfortable student life.

Hostels
Boys and Girls Hostels

Girls’ Hostel

Construction of the Girls’ Hostel is moving quickly, with major structural work underway. It is being built with the same focus on safety, dignity, and comfort.

Both hostels are expected to be ready by mid-2026.

A Space for Reflection: Buddha Pavilion

The campus will also include a Buddha Pavilion — a peaceful, open space for reading, reflection, and dialogue.

It will offer students an environment to think, discuss, and grow beyond the classroom.

The Next Step: Mess & Dining Facility

The next major phase is the construction of the kitchen and dining facility — an essential part of a residential campus.

This space will serve as a common area where students not only eat but also interact and build community. The construction is set to begin soon, and this is where support is most needed.

With generous support already secured for the ongoing construction of the Academic Block, Buddha Pavilion, and Hostels, we now seek contributions for the Kitchen and Dining Block.

The total project cost for Kitchen and Dining Block is ₹2.5 crore — ₹2 crore for construction + ₹50 lakh for kitchen equipment and utensils. The single-storey Kitchen and Dining Block, spread over 6,875 sq. ft., is designed to serve 200 students and staff.

If you wish to support us for this initiative, please contact us. Every contribution will be gratefully received and publicly acknowledged.

A Campus Built by the Community

This campus stands as a powerful example of what collective effort can achieve. It has been built step by step by students, alumni, mentors, and supporters who believe in education as a tool for social change.

Over the years, Nalanda Academy has supported thousands of students in accessing higher education. With this campus, the aim is to reach many more in the coming years.
