Every month, as part of Nalanda’s outreach, we travel to different parts of the country and conduct 2–3 such workshops with students.
Over the last 4 years, we have done more than 100 workshops — reaching young minds across villages and small towns.
These spaces matter to us. They allow us to share whatever we have learned, and to stay connected with the realities and aspirations of students on the ground.
Here is a short report from one such recent workshop held in Ganauli village, Yamunanagar (Haryana).
On 11–12 April 2026, Nalanda Academy’s Nilesh Kumar participated in a two-day Youth Conference held in Ganauli village, Chhachhrauli Tehsil, Yamunanagar district, Haryana.
The conference was organised by Begumpura Charitable Trust and Naya Savera Coaching Center & Library to mark the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and the 135th birth anniversary of Bodhisattva Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Centred on the theme “Future Challenges and Solutions for Youth Empowerment,” the gathering brought together young participants for meaningful discussions on education, aspirations, and pathways for growth.
Education, when it reaches those who need it most, becomes the most powerful tool for transformation.

An Invitation to the Last Mile
Mr. Sandeep Sodhi and Mr. Vipin Babu invited Nalanda Academy to conduct a dedicated one-day workshop on opportunities in higher education — both in India and abroad.
Representing Nalanda, Nilesh Kumar served as mentor and led a full-day interactive session with students from the region.
The workshop focused on diverse academic pathways, access to higher education, and the real challenges students often face in navigating these journeys.

✦
Higher Education as a Tool for Empowerment
The conference placed a strong emphasis on higher education as a powerful means of empowerment — particularly for youth from marginalised communities.
Many students in these regions have the ability and the aspiration. What they often lack is information, exposure, and someone to show them what is possible.
That is exactly the gap this workshop set out to address.
Students participated with curiosity and enthusiasm, engaging actively in discussions and interactions throughout the sessions.
✦
Recognition and Gratitude
At the conclusion of the programme, certificates were distributed to participants, volunteers, and organisers in recognition of their contributions.
This visit created a meaningful platform for dialogue, mentorship, and the exchange of ideas across communities.
Nalanda Academy expresses its sincere gratitude to Begumpura Charitable Trust and Naya Savera Coaching Center & Library for the invitation and for creating such an inspiring space for youth engagement.

✦
Reaching Further, Together
For Nalanda Academy, this visit was a reminder of why this work matters.
The students of Ganauli — curious, engaged, full of questions — are not different from the students of Wardha. They carry the same aspirations, face many of the same barriers, and deserve the same access to information and guidance.
Reaching the last mile is not a one-time effort. It is a commitment — to show up, to listen, and to keep widening the circle of possibility.
