Nalanda Academy is proud to announce the inauguration of the Nalanda Counselling Centre — a dedicated initiative to provide holistic, sustained support to students from marginalised and underprivileged backgrounds.
The Centre is designed to help students navigate the complex world of higher education — offering not just information, but genuine guidance, mentorship, and a pathway towards their aspirations.
Access to education is not enough. Students need access to informed choices, confidence, and possibility — and that is what this Centre is built to provide.
✦
Personalised Mentorship
At the heart of the Centre is a strong network of 200+ mentors who offer one-on-one guidance to students.
Whether it is an academic challenge, a career decision, or a personal concern, students have access to someone who will listen, advise, and walk alongside them through the journey.
✦
STEM Specialisation
A dedicated STEM Counselling wing, supported by 50+ mentors, provides focused guidance to students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
For many students from rural and marginalised communities, STEM pathways often feel distant or inaccessible. This wing exists to change that — one student at a time.
✦
Holistic Support
The Centre goes beyond academics. It engages with the social and economic realities that students come from — offering counselling that is sensitive, grounded, and practical.
Students are not just helped with what to study, but with how to navigate the world they live in while pursuing their goals.
✦
Access and Exposure
Through networks and partnerships, students gain access to opportunities that are often otherwise out of reach — research programmes, internships, and experiential learning that broaden their horizons and build their confidence.
The Nalanda Counselling Centre is an effort to bridge the gap in access — not just to education, but to the full range of possibilities that education can open up.
